 Hatch locking mechanism

I had to take apart the hatch door again. And I am getting ready to put it back together. So before I do that I was wondering if there is any easy way to fix that flimsy locking mechanism that will break sooner or later. Those plastic pieces connecting the actuator to the lock are really lame.

Any suggestions on improving those?

Thanks,
Florian

Had my latch replaced 2x under CPO. Thats how weaksauce it is...and it still doesn't actuate every time. It takes 1-3 pushes on the button before it unlocks...booo

I bent a wire hanger into the shape I needed once and I have never had a problem since.

Ron Stygar sells pre-bent pieces that update the rear latch to a more reliable mechanism. Check with him.

I think he told me that you dont need it for the S54. Does this sound right?

Correct. S54 has factory-fixed new parts.
