Need to replace the switch for my top. Does anyone know if the switch can be popped out of the center console w/out taking anything else out? Feedback greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Thanks. | Yes it can. Is it still in the stock location in the rear?

By the way, I'd be surprised if that switch failed. Most of the top failures I've seen have been the microswitch that's in the ragtop (at the first hinge on the driver's side).

Sorry the terse posts earlier, I was in the middle of draining my differential fluid.
You can get the top switch out of the rear of the console by popping out one of the blanks first, then sticking your middle finger (or two fingers if they're thin enough) in behind the top switch and pushing it forward. Two fingers works better; there are metal spring tabs that hold it in, if you can squeeze one against the switch while pushing the switch out the front, that end will pop out more easily. It''ll come out without compressing the tabs, but It'll take more force.
To get the blank out, very carefully use a miniature screwdriver. Be careful not to damage the console plastic; prefer damaging the blank, those are cheap to replace. But I've never damaged anything getting them out, they come out pretty easily.
You don't ever want to remove the center console unless absolutely necessary. Mine is out right now, for the 7th time. It's a PITA no matter how many times you've done it, and there are parts that break easily (tabs on the glovebox and drivers underdash panel, the hazard switch surround).
