Okay, still going around in a bit of a circle on tire sizes for my Coupe keeping STOCK WHEELS and have come to the following calculations on sizes:
Stock Sizes:
225/45/17 = 24.97" 245/40/17 = 24.72"
Options:
235/40/17 = 24.4" 255/35/17 = 24.03" 265/35/17 = 24.3"
So, in terms of keeping the front to rear diameters close enough to not screw with the DSC system, it seems that the 235/40 and 265/35 are the sizes of choice.
That being said, does anyone have any comments on going with that setup. It will obviously induce a tiny bit of speedo error but I assume that won't be an issue as it is off by a mile already. Gearing changes slightly for the better which will make my 3.73 LSD even better.
The only concern that I have is clearence as I will be running a slightly lowered suspesion, either a Dinan S3 or GC and don't want issues. And of course, keeping a good nuetral balance with the car as I don't want to understeer like a farm tractor!
Any cooments are greatly welcomed so I can finally order tires tomorrow(going with Toyo T1Rs as I have been looking for an excuse to try them)!
Thanks!

I'm no tire expert, but why didn't you list 255/40/17 as an option? this size is about 1.5% larger in diameter than stock, which ought to eliminate the common speedo error. It will also avoid being too low and will put a tad bit more rubber on the road. I regret not going to this rear size when I bought my Kumho ECSTAs, but I needed tires immediately and hadn't done my homework yet.

The other reason was I hate to go larger than stock as that will effect the acceleration slightly. Although, I am not an expert which is why I am posting this here!

I was told by a german mechanic trained in germany that has been here in tampa and has set up his own shop, and only services BMW PORSCHE and MERCEDES not to change any tire sizes unless you have done work to suspension to go with those tires. your suspension is finely tuned for those sizes any changes with factory suspension could affect handling and premature tire wear. anyways i just replaced my tires from toyo to kumho saved some cash and the kumho feel just as good as toyo and handle same to

And...why does BMW list such a wide range of wheels & tire sizes in the owners manual?
