 getting to RSMs in coupe?

Anyone know of some good instructions on how to take apart the whole hatch area to get to the RSMs? I'll be doing mine next weekend, and I understand this is the hardest task.

thanks

Poke around Ron's website. www.unofficialbmw.com He used to have scans of BMW's service manual showing the steps. Otherwise use our friend , Search. He's a wonderful guy, little stupid at times but overall a good retriever.

Figure on at least 2 hours or more taking it apart. And you may want to swing by your stealer for some new attachments, there are at least three types. And if you have all the proper attachments and they are attached, your rear will be a whole lot quieter afterward than if you don't.

Another q... I got the Rogue RSMs, so once I get them in with stock suspension, when I finally do get aftermarket suspension, I won't have to do this again right? Later the struts can be taken out without getting to the RSMs from above?

thanks!

Yes, That is correct and exactly what I am doing - but the RSM's in with Bilsteins and plan to add H&R springs when they finally get some in stock in the US.
The RSM's mount from the inside -bolts sticking down into the wheel well, and you can change shocks from the outside without the rear compartment dismantling challenge

BTW, you might want to use some RTV silicone or urethane adhesive to stick the reinforcements in place, so you don't do something stupid like shove up into the car and have to take everything apart again.

No, I didn't do this, but I can see myself doing it.
