Just bought an M mirror with chrome trim and auto dimming. I'd like to get the auto dimming to work. Looking at the mirror there is a connector inside it with two pin. One I assume is ground and the other is switched ignition. Looking at the TIS, the M Coupe has a connector protruding from the headliner. I think this connector should be in the roof of the Z3 Coupe but I haven't looked.
Anyone done this?
Which parts did you buy? If possible could you post with the part numbers so I can check against the ETK.

I did it in my 3.0 Coupe. I ended up cutting off the stock connector on the mirror side and making the wires long enough to get to the center console. There are 2 wires, one ground and one power (yellow and brown I think). Brown is Ground. I tapped into hot/switched power so the autodim feature runs only when the car is running at the same point as the Passport.
The car side of the connector does not exist in non-M cars.
I didn't buy any parts, you shouldn't need any unless you find the other half of the connector and try to build a car side of the connector yourself.
If you have keyless entry with the receiver in the mirror, it gets much more difficult.....

Ron,
Do you happen to know the PN for the socket connector used at location A6 of that harness, the one that goes into the fusebox?
I think its 61 13 8 364 846 but I'm not sure...
