Anyone wants hood vents?

Ok, what is it that everyone is looking for? Heat reduction? The bling factor? I wanted a hood with vents for heat reduction. I have looked around and I have been speaking with Rob at CARBONTRIX. I told him about what I was looking for and he sounded like he could do a hood but he didn't make me think that it would be any better than what is already out there. What he did make me feel good about is that he is willing to make vent especially fitted for our hoods. We can give him a design and he will make a mold and have us split the cost of the mold and give us a break on the vents if we have enough in on the deal. I told him that I would put it out there and see if anyone wanted to. So does this sound like something that you would be interested in doing? Voice you concerns and opinions. I want to do vent if we can get someone to make them for our cars I think that would be great. If this doesn't go then I will just find some already made and fit them to my car.

I've always thought it would be a good idea to get some heat out from under the hood. At first, I thought about converting the gills to a real exhaust vent. That doesn't seem feasible given the way the hood hinges interfere in that area.

My biggest concerns are placement and design. What would it look like? Where would they be? On the Aston Martin Vanquish, they put four heat chimneys on the motor that meet the hood at some seals and take heat out that way. I always thought that was kinda cool.

What are you thinking about for installation?

I know, more questions than answers, but that's what I have for now.

I have looked at all the threads and see several hood vents that would look good on our Coupes. Does anyone remember seeing the M Roadster last year at HC that had vents in the hood? I talked to the couple and they said that the person who installed the vents would never do it again. Anyway, I have always wanted the vents in the hood of my M Coupe.

I too have looked at these threads. I just want to add some sort of venting to my hood. I do not want to remove the weather stripping because of the increase in cabin temperture. So I thought that I would look to see if anyone could make a vent just for our cars. I have emailed Rob at CARBONTRIX for a price for a group buy and I also sent him some of the concerns. Hopefully I'll hear back from him soon.

I think a vent on each side of the hood being painted the same color of the hood would look great. Maybe even a carbon fiber vent. According to the couple I met at HC, the person who put their vents in said it was more of a job than he had thought. Anyway, I am interested and will be glad to help in finding the right vents.
