Time for new tires. I want to stick with Michelin. I currently have the Pilot Sports, but it looks like the PS2 is a newer (better ?) tire. Tire Rack's price is the same for both. Suggestions ?

I got a call from the Tire Rack, trying to convince me to get the Pilot Sports, which they have in stock in my size, rather than the PS2s that I ordered, which are backordered.
The guy from the Tire Rack on the phone tried to convince me that the PS2 wasn't better, but was in fact an OEM tire that Michelin developed for Mercedes. The OEM tire for my car is the Pilot Sport, he said, why did I want a Mercedes tire? He virtually said flat out that the PS2 was not a development of the PS and was not in any way better. I said...uh thanks for the tip, but I think I'll wait. 
I usually don't have anything bad to say about the Tire Rack, but I found this advice a little surprising. From their own tire tests, it seems pretty obvious that the PS2 is better than the PS.

in my experience, the pilot sport is a decent tire but certainly not worth the money.

TireRack is obviously trying to clear out old inventory. Disappointing, actually, because their sales support is usually pretty good.
