 s54 55c thermostat



received this today. s54 55c thermostat pn#11 53 1 417 215 $172.90 list. i will install it soon along with water temp gauge and fresh coolant.
does anybody have the torque value for the thermostat cover bolts?

The thermostat you purchased suggested retail is $152. $114 from a minus 25% guy like Jay Lilley of BMW Nashville.
Why did you go with the 55 degree C one? The stock one is 80 degree C.
Where did you get this part number from? The part number you posted shows up in the price list but not in the parts catalog.
Torque for the bolts is 10 Nm.

my reciept from nashville bmw puts list at $172.
i am installing this with hope that my car will run cooler on the track. this is where my car see's most of it's miles, no winters. never over heated but the oil gets to about 165f. maybe the 55c coolant thermostat will give the engine a head start at running cooler?
i found the # on line somewhere (claiming motorsports thermostat) it was a risk ($$) ordering it but it is the real thing.
