Let this be incentive to remove the rear trim panels when installing the rear shocks in a Coupe.

In the case of double adjustable Konis, you still need access to the top of the shock stem to make setting changes. By marking the underside of the trim panel(s) using a China marker through the RSM, you can accurately place a 1/2" hole directly over the shock stem. With a Blair holesaw, you can cut just the plastic without touching the carpet. Using an X-acto knife, just slit the carpet into quarters to allow Ron Stygar's shock tool to fit through.

When you're done at the track and detailing the interior for concours events, just shape the carpet over the hole (if required) using a dental probe and nobody will ever know there's a hole there.

Yea, good idea, but us old guys would forget we made the hole if we couldn't see it.

By the way have you been inside your house this month?

I know Sue had to register for HC.

That's too funny! Actually, I have a hard time remembering where the Rdstrs are; the Coupes have infiltrated my garage and the Rdstrs are dispersed amongst the neighbor's garages. Even the Foyer is stacked up with Coupe (interior trim) parts!

The red (turbo) Coupe was loaded onto a transporter less than an hour ago for it's ride back to Minnesota and another EB Coupe will arrive from Boston on Sunday. By the time Labor Day rolls around, I will have worked on 2% of the cars at HC.

BTW, I heard the news; congratulations on the bun in the oven

I suppose I could order two (2) of Ron's shock tools and just leave them in place

Thankfully, the garage is attached to the condo, and that's where the refrigerator is.

The owner of that white/beige Coupe is looking forward to meeting you at HC this year. Apparently, the two of you just missed each other while he was near you in Florida (now living in Charleston, SC).
