Hi - When I turn on the factory-installed BMW Business CD radio in my 2000 M Roadster, the display says "PHONE" and none of the buttons work. Replacements on eBay are going for about $400 and that's too much for me. Does anybody know of a place/person who repairs these radios? I live in Seattle, but I'd ship the thing if necessary. Thank you!

You might try two things. The link below provides a partial explanation of how to obtain your radio's serial number and adjust the speed sensitive volume (GAL). Once you get to these menu items you can evidently continue to scroll and other settings or adjustments will be displayed. A website that covers all of this in more detail has been down for a while, but you could try to see if the radio is currently on a menu relating to the phone system.
Also, if you have the radio's security code, you could try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery and reentering the code. Maybe that would cause the radio to return to certain default settings.
