Thinking about buying a z3. I like the styling better than the z4. Is there any significant safety differences between the z3 and z4? I believe the z3 has stability control for 2001 and 2002. Not sure if it was an option before then. Anything I should watch out for when buying a z3? Is the Kelly private party price the fair price I should pay, or can I expect to do better (or worse)?

The 2001 and 2002 Z3s have the same motors and electronics as the Z4s, so if you like the styling, get the newest one you can afford. And the M54 motors dont have all hte problems of the M52s, but I am sure they will develop thier own problems in time...

I wouldn't let a torn floor end a deal for me. I'd use it as a bargaining tool and use the money saved on Randy's dual-ear fix.

I believe the z3 has stability control for 2001 and 2002. ? | The Z4 has 6 airbags(front + side + knee), The Z3's have 2(driver/passenger front) or 4(+side) I believe depending on the year.
Also the Z4 has a better stability control system.
Sounds like your looking for a newer model, but the Z3 also didn't have roll hoops until '98.
