I want to run Kumho v710...baaad! as you know the sizes are limited. The rear is not a problem, 275/40/17 is the same size I run with Hoosiers. The front is the problem...I now run 245/40/17 Hoosiers on 9" wheels (SSR+12mm spacer) car is on coilover struts with camber plates. 710's only come in 245/45 which is quite a bit taller... any way in hell it will fit? the largest tire I have run is a 255/40 victoracer, wider but lower. |

9" wide rims on the front? WOW, I think that is the first I heard someone actually had 9-inchers up front. Off hand, I doubt that the 245/45 would fit with the 12-mm spacers up front. The tire might rub onto the plastic liner. A few questions:
1) Can your 9-inch wheel fit without the spacer? 2) Do you currently rub the inner plastic liner with your 255/40's? If you do, have you tried a smaller spacer/no spacer. 3) Did you try calculating the size difference with the tire you are asking about? I think Tirerack has the formulas. 4) Have you tried to see if someone in the area that might have the same tire/wheel, would be willing to allow you to see if the combo would fit on your front?
Good luck!

the 9" inch are fine, SSR with 245/40 Hoosiers. with 255/40 victoracers there is some rub at full lock. I tried a friends v710 245/45 today and they fit but they will rub some for sure at lock. I might have to raise the car a tad and maybe take off the plastic liners... Probably worth it in order to run V710s

Disclaimer: I'm assuming you plan to use these for autox, not track.
Any reason you wouldn't just run A3S05s? They appear to be keeping up with the 710s and are available in the sizes you run. They may not last as long (jury still out) but by the time you burn through a set, the 710s may be available in a 245/40.
For what its worth, I ran 245/45/17 Victoracers up front for a year with no serious rubbing problems.
