I know some guys have taken the kidney grills and removed the chrome and painted them black. I'm kind of anti-chrome, and had some thoughts for "de-chroming" the interior. I really dig the brushed aluminum look that Audi has on their interiors. The BMW matte chrome really isn't on par with that (IMO), but I think that it's better than the chrome in the coupe interiors. I'm thinking about stripping the chrome (big maybe at this point) off the interior parts and painting them matte chrome, which would be a great match for the matte chrome hockey sticks.

Any paint out there that would be close enough in color and look to BMW matte chrome?
