 convertible top sealer

Anybody with a suggestion of a good waterproofing sealent to apply to the top of a roadster ? I noticed on a trip to the dealer that all the new Bimmer soft tops on his lot all had the water beaded up in puddles sitting on the roofs of them. Mine is still water tight but the water doesn't bead like the new tops. Any comments ?
Thanks

Search online for Raggtopp or go to z3solutions.com. Comes in pack of cleaner and sealer.

I used the BMW sealer and my top now beads with the best of them. It wasn't cheap, but it was easy to apply. Let me know if you want the part # as I still have half the bottle left.

I have a question, related to softops... is it really bad to take my car through the hand carwashes here in SoCal? My ex mentioned to me a few weeks ago that when he had his softop, he would never go through a hand carwash... he'd only wash it himself. Supposedly, it's bad for the top. I'm sorry, but I just don't have time to wash my car by hand, myself. What other option do I have? I only plan to keep the car for 3 years and turn it in after the lease is up, so should I even worry for such a short time?

If you don't have a place to wash your car where you live (what's up with CA? people living in apartments don't wash cars?)

Find one of those coin-op car washes, take a bucket and a wash mit with you. Takes like 15 minutes tops (including drying). (with power washer) and wash it yourself (but avoid the brush–like taking rubbing sandpaper on paint!) I don't scrub the top at all. I just use the sprayer and give the top a good blast/rinse. Usually gets all of the dirt out.

Some places won't allow bucket washing because it means less $ for them, but it's a waste of water. If you go at a time when no one else goes, you can take your time. If you go on weekend afternoons... forget it. You'll have people give you dirty looks (I personally don't care... it IS a car wash after all and there are at least 4 bays).

RaggTopp...definitely the stuff you need to use.

Z4Philly, my best recommendation is to find a local enthusiast who will let you use their driveway/hose...find the time, it's worth it!
