Can I gain 4" of headroom?

I'm considering having two vertebrae removed, but hoping there is a cheaper solution to my problem I'm 6'3", and looking for not just a little, but a lot more drop in seat height. I know this is unusual for a Roadster driver, but I'm getting tired of the buffeting I get at speed. If I could get the top of my head 4 inches lower, I would have absolutely nothing to complain about. If necessary, I'd settle for losing the adjustability of my seat. So, anybody (Coupe drivers?) been able to gain this amount of space with aftermarket seats?
BTW, yes, I've removed the hump, and done the seat tilt.

Umm, put the top up?

Are you using a windscreen? It helps significantly if done right. The BMW one is on the right track, I just don't like the loss of visibilty. The old JD one is too high and wide IMHO, it catches air flow over the top of the cabin and also air that curls around the seats from the sides. z3solutions.com now has one that's polycarbonate (Lexan) instead of acrylic. That's good, but I wound up experimenting and making my own. It's a little over an inch shorter than then roll hoops, and only goes between them. So far it's been the best thing I've had. It's 1/4" gray tinted polycarbonate with a scratch-resistant coating.

Hmmm, I hadn't thought of trying a different windscreen. I've got the mesh one. It's not so much the wind swirl that bugs me, I think I'm getting the direct blast over the windshield. Sit on a couple of phone books to see what I'm dealing with My wife, who is 5'2" doesn't understand........ Maybe aftermarket seats that could gain me an inch or two combined with the lexan screen.

Move the seat all the way forward, recline the seat back to the maximum angle, and then move the entire seat assembly back until the seat back touches the rear of the cabin. That will give you the lowest seating position possible. (I'm 6'4")

Someone on the roadfly board wrote a detailed thread about how to remove the foam hump on the rear wall of the passenger cockpit behind the seat to allow the seat to move even further back. Might want to check into that, too.

There's some room to be had, but it's not a lot and I don't know if anyone's gone after more headroom when installing aftermarket seats. Most of the replacements I've seen are to lose some weight, gain harness holes, etc.

Not trying to have my cake and eat it too, but doing that compromises my ability to control the car. I need to retain the bolt upright seating position that I was taught at my first HPDE.
