How to change an oil filter?

Does anybody know how you exactly change the oil filter on a '99 2.8 Z3 or just any Z3 because I think it is probably similar. I can't immediately find a good tread on the website.

Later I also want to try to change the oil myself but for now, I would be happy if somebody could help me out with the filter. Btw, any idea how much they cost?

Thanks a lot! I appreciate all the help on this site!

Ok, that doesn't look too difficult. Basically unscrewing the filter, clean the housing out and putting the new one in. I'll try to do it this weekend because I don't trust those jiffylube filters after what I heard...

Thx

Biggest problem is finding the 36mm socket to do it right.

I wonder if the M cqap and bolt would work? Nice 13mm nut to remove.

Here's another how-to article and this guy sells the 36mm socket. I bought a 1.9 oil change socket and filter from him some time ago.
