I had an alarm installed in my 05 Z4 last week. The Z4 Assesories catalog mentions that there are two alarms to choose from, one for models made before 04/03 and one for newer models. I also noticed that there is an additional feature of an internal motion sensor that monitors movement in the driverside pedal area. I asked about this feature and the dealer was not familar and spent two days researching. His results are that I have to replace the current alarm with another one to support the sensor. I had problems after the alarm was installed including my bluetooth stopped working. To fix that problem, the dealer had to upgrade the code in the ECU!

Now I have to replace the alarm to have sensor installed! Can anyone verify that there are two alarms offered for the 05 Z4 and if mine needs to be replaced? Does anyone have the Z4 motion sensor and can shed any light on if it is worth the effort?
