Hi guys, i was thinking how to bring a z3 from europe, i know there must be few conversions made to satisfy US specs, does anyone know what they are and how the whole process takes place ? Also how would i know whether the car already has US specs or not ? I heard about few z3 wondering across the europe with US specs...or was it only rumors ? Any input will be greatly apreciated |

Most of the parts meet specs, but they don't have things like the bumper reflectors.
Emissions is normally the hard part.

Interesting thought...importing a european version of a car built in the US.

Can only be worthwhile if you are after the S50 instead of S52. Otherwise its all much of a muchness I think. I don't think any "for european market" cars will be US compliant.
I am importing a UK car into Australia atm so I can tell you that there is a LOT of red tapw and bs to deal with.

I know there is alot of bs to go thru but i checked the prices on the roadsters and figured they are roughly half whats considered normal here in the USA, even the M roadsters. Naturally it got me thinking, maybe its worth it ? Thanks for input everybody.

Early Ms would be the hardest, since the S50B32 was never a US legal engine.
