Opinions on 17's in the Front 18's in the Rear

Close to making a decision on some wheels and was looking for some comments.
Looking at 17x7.5 w/ 215/40/17 up front and 18x9 w/ 255/35/18 out back (Moda R8) These sizes seem to match up well when looking at sidewall height. Most combinations I could think of had a much bigger sidewall on the 17 then the 18 and I thought that might look odd.

My other option is going 18x8 w/225/40/18 up front and 18x9 w/255/35/18 out back (ASA AR1).

The biggest concern beyond look is that the combination fits. I'm currently running 16x7 w/ 225/50/16 and I just had HR sport springs and Koni shocks installed. It's sitting right on top of the stock wheels so I'm concerned about going too big.

the diameter of the wheel and tire shouldn't be a problem as long as you upsize correctly (more rim, less tire). Funny, I'm actually considering the same wheels (ASA AR1s). I like the styling, decent weight, good price. BBS doesn't make many that'll fit our Zs...these are a definitely a good alternative - please post pics/impressions if/when you get them?

as far as the 17/18in combo. dp did it:

i think it's a matter of taste - i think it looks pretty hot. if you're considering it out of necessity, however, i would venture to say that you'd have no rubbing problems with 18x8 up front. i know that some have had difficulty w/ rubbing on Zcoupes w/ suspension and 18x8.5 up front....
