 SS exhaust install

Jen and I installed a SuperSprint exhaust with new mounts and hardware on her car.
We also checked out the car for leaks, flex disk, missing/broken items etc.
To get the tips level you have to modify a bracket or spacer it down somehow on the passenger side rear mount. In this case we used a modified bracket.
When hot, the tips move down around 1/4 inch. Little if any side to side movement.
I usually space them down two or three tongue depressors from the bottom of the opening to the top of the tip. Each depressor is around .060 inch. I normally tape two or three together as a gauge, adjust and then check.
Today we taped the three depressors together and then taped them to the top of each tip. Pushed up the muffler and tightened. This step saved a lot of time. Sort of obvious, but the thought never came out until today.

Hi Jen! You look right at home

For those without the custom brkt (I fall into that category) you can put a nut on each stud before putting the mounts up. The studs are plenty long enough, and it beats trying to keep a stack of washers in place while you man=handle the exhaust into position. Especially fun when working alone.

BTW, what's the idea of wearing white when working under a car; is your car that clean?

I was amazed how well I fit with no exhaust on the car.

Actually my car is filthy.....not thinking properly when I got ready...

I have to get under mine and look at the muffler to see if it is inboard or outboard entry so I can see if i need a new one when i go with Forbes dual diff
