I don't know about the S54, but Bob Tunnell really likes the NGK iridiums in his S50/S52 autocross cars.

I replaced mine 2 weeks ago when I checked my valve clearance at 11.5K miles. The stock plugs were NGK R's with fat electrodes, usually a sign of non-platinum. I don't like putting used plugs back, so I replaced them with NGK iridiums.
