 Battery discharging

Found the reason but not the cause of my battery discharging.
Car is drawing 373 ma. BMW spec is <50 ma.
Removing radio, changer and amp fuse 9 it goes down to 26 ma.
It goes through connector X322 pin 4 under the drivers side dash.
Then to a splice splitting off to the three items.
Will look at it later today.

Interesting. I suppose if you pull all three devices off power you can determine whether it's the wiring. If it's not, delivering power to each device, one at a time, would further isolate it, if it's the accessories.

There have been a number of posts about batteries dying after about a week or so sitting in a garage. I would suspect they have similar problems. I've left mine in a garage for a month while on travel - no problems, but this is very instructive. Thanks.

Good luck Ron.

It's a hot at all times line. Not sure if I tapped anything else into it though yet.

Ron I noticed in some of your photos that you have a Griot's Battery post with a 3 amp fuse to keep a power on for codes when you disconnect the Battery, Could this some how be draining it? I have yet to install my post and fuse. I just might not add the fused power runaround if this is the case.

Good luck

Not sure what you mean by Griots post.
I have a line going to the stock battery jump point through a 3A fuse that I use to connect my battery tender. Had a similar set up on my '00.

No tap in's on the X322 connector pin 4. This connector is behind the drivers side power distribution box as shown in the upper left side of the following pic. The wiring on the '01 and '02 M's are different than the pre '01's.

Pulled the gift BMW TP and the current went down to 26 ma.
Installed my spare HK TP and it stayed at 26 ma.
Installed one of my spare BMW TP's and it stayed at 26 ma.
No spec. on what the TP draws. GPS antenna shows 18 ma.
Reinstalled the gift BMW TP and the current went back up to 373 ma.

Will call Tony next week.
