My wife hates long trips in the MC b/c the passenger seat doesn't recline much at all. There's a mechanical stop but I wonder if anyone has attempted to modify this for more recline? She's only 5'0" and the seat is rarely all the way back. Z4's recline a lot more. Trying to accomplish the same in the MC. Anyone???

Try the discussions on Seat Tilt -- this may fix most of your concern.
Thanks but my wife really wants to lay back in the seat. I may take my seat apart to see how I'll need to modify it. We just took a 3 hour trip from NY to DC but she hates long distances in the MC b/c she can't lay back. This probably explains why she doesn't like the 11 hour drive to Homecoming

good luck with this one, I hope you can figure it out. If you do, please post a how-to. I've tried to figure it out, but had no luck. I'd like to recline more for long drives. My wife loves the z3, sometimes she takes it out for a spinn herself, but some summer drives have been cut short because she can't recline enough to nap on the way home.
this would be a great mod

Roof rack?
Other than the seat tilt/rake mod, I've never rally heard of anything, and there's just not much room to work with in there. The seat just does not recline by design, so you're looking at seat swap prolly.

My G/F has the same complaints about the seat not reclining. For what it's worth, she finds that a neck support pillow makes her much more comfortable with the existing limited recline.
