 powdercoated E46 aluminum pedal covers

Last summer I powdercoated my aluminum E46 pedal covers. Just thought I'd let folks know that much to my surprise, it has held up really well. I actually expected that to be a failed experiment and wind up stripping them. That hasn't been the case. I put two coats of clear polyester TGIC over the color, and it's still got full gloss. I know the rubber inserts are part of the reason, but I also know I'm rubbing the edge of the brake pedal every time I heel/toe (I can feel it if I'm wearing the right shoes). So if anyone ever wants to do this with the E46 aluminum pedal covers, it appears that it will hold up for a decent amount of time. Feeling confident of this, I finally put the matching dead pedal in tonight (which as many of us know doesn't fit perfectly, but it matches my pedal covers and I'm trying to shrink the pile of uninstalled parts ).

Here's one I took quickly last year in lousy lighting.

Maybe I'll take some more this weekend, but the hardtop is still on which makes it hard to get a good shot that includes the dead pedal.
