Impressions of the 3.46 Torsen LSD

Curious to know people's impression of the 3.46 Torsen LSD from the 01' - 02' Z3 automatic. How does it compare to a 3.46 LSD from an E30? I'm considering a swap, but if I get a new Torsen, it's gonna be over $2K, and I've seen used 3.46 LSD from E30s for around $600. Other than the fact that one is new and the other used, are there other benefits that make it worth the extra $$?

I'm also considering going with a 3.38. I know the 3.46 is a good match for the S54, but I don't have as much power, nor the higher redline. BTW I have a 5 spd., 3.07 diff., and Dinan software on my 3.0 M54. I think a 3.38 LSD might be a better fit for me (spirited driving around town, but highway driving also a necessity). I'm still studying the numbers on the RPM calculator, but there are other factors involved, like money and what's more readily available, not to mention I also value the real world experierence of others. Thanks in advance
