Dinan Products on 2001/2002 m Coupe
I am looking into adding a few basic mods to my 2001 SG M coupe. I am still under original factory warranty, as well as, having the CPO warranty. Therefore I am pretty much married to the Dinan stuff. I was wondering if any of you 2001/2002 owners can give me feedback of what you have (Dinan stuff) and your general impressions.
As part of my research I went to Active Autowerkes here in Miami. They have a software program update that they flash. I liked their setup because they work with the client to "fix" the parameters that the client wants i.e. throttle curve, WOT settings, top speed limiter. My only concern with this is BMW Easter eggs.
Any thoughts?

I think the balance of Dinans stuff is good,Every one has a opinion!Doing this stuff for awhile I find that based on your pocket book and confidence level in your car,engine,warranty there is many roads,and different mods,I think if you are not handy go Dinan,If you want to go outside the box go Active!If you can do it all your self pick and choose the vendors as we do.So far Dinan has a nice suspension kit,Confortie has the best chip,Dinan has a cold air intake Not bad set up.No that suspension can be all over the mat based on the application race,weekend,autocross ect.Pipes noise,or no noise,Supersprint is nice!I had two sets,Eisaman two styles loud,Dinan I like the look,the crowl is not as snappy as my Super Sprint on my S-54. Fit is most inportant,to some people that does not matter!Ask your self do you want to add value,or speed or handling!To many mods spoil the car!On the resale!!!No one wants a race car...

What is an "SG" M Coupe? What is a CPO warranty? What are BMW Easter eggs?
Concerning Dinan's warranty, think about this: You buy Dinan's throttle bodies and their software. Your engine throws a rod. Will they replace you engine? Probably not; they'll say it's BMW's fault because many S54's have had this damage. Will BMW replace your engine? Probably not; they'll say you modified it.

(SG) MAY BE STEAL GRAY,(CPO)MAY BE Certified preown,And warranty is crap in this country on all products.Now WE HAVE WITNESS That Bob blew the sh out of his engine with a few Dinan Mods and they replaced the engine and did a great job,Note know your dealer,If your not likeable or you have a ugly girl freind forget it your warranty it is null and void!And eggs fkin easter maybe,,.

Get a BMW dealer to enable the Sport Mode before springing for more software. This will be the best bang for your buck and it probably won't void your warranty.

We did that many moons ago,In this country no dealer will or is able to engage that mod!Plus Jims injector is very close to that mod!And before any one talks,, I have both mods and had Dinan and have Jims advanced software plus his waiver and I sent him my blood (DNA)Sample!
