Somewhat O.T., but the M Rdstrs are safe...

There's no chance of either Sue or I giving up our front engined/rear-drive sportscars anytime soon!

Here are a few pictures I took of Sue today in our rental car (2004 non-S w/Tiptronic) up in the mountains at Tortilla Flats. While there are some very dragon-like roads, they were more crowded than the ones in Tennessee/North Carolina. Sue seemed to think it was Senior's Day and none of them were in any kind of hurry (and mostly riding the brakes fulltime; but I didn't see anyone with their right blinker on...).

Compared to our M Rdstrs (either one) this little cutie lacks the punch of the inline six. To get decent acceleration, you really have to stand on it and wring it out to the 7000 RPM redline. Casually leaving a stoplight, the car takes off in 2nd gear and upshifts to 3rd before you're 2/3rds the way through the intersection. Of course, you can put it in manual mode and use the steering wheel mounted + & - controls.

And here's Sue in a genuine Orchid Leis sent by Thrills (thanks Woody!). My Leis is a Ti. For more details on them, you'd have to ask Woody

I'm driving about 60 miles south of Phoenix tomorrow to meet with a Vintage Kart guy while Sue does some ceremony planning. Saturday is Sue's Graduation (and our 3rd Anniversary) and we're hoping to meet up with Tony Martele on Sunday. Tony is the organizer for the Z3 Fest events (and is always at HC too).

So far, it's been kind of nice to get out of the garage for a change, though I'm looking forward to getting the parts in for the current project: a 2000 M Coupe that is being converted from a Dinan supercharger setup to an Active Autowerke's Stg II turbo package.

One guess on who's black 99 M Rdstr will receive the Dinan sc...

Hmmm.... I noticed you didn't say a word about that bottle of Dom sitting by the flowers.

Somethings need not be said! Let us go back under the hood and let the love birds be.

HELLO RANDY & SUE!!!

The Boxster's performance, thats the reason my friend Todd who is out their near you has put 996 engines in a few of them.

On a differant subject: If you can get Sue up early some morning take rt. 60 east a few miles to Superior and stop at the unique restaurant you'll see along the way and have a nice breakfast and tour the world's smallest museum. You'll love it.

Dale
