The pad sensors are normally closed and connected to ground at the rear of the car; the rear sensor is in series with the front and from there leads into the cluster.
Assuming the sensor wears open and breaks the ground path to the cluster causing the light to illuminate, what clears the light after restoring the ground path?
Does this have to be reset with a Peake-type tool?

I would think that just restoring the connection would clear the light.
Never tried it, I just don't run pads that low. But in the old days on my Toyota, I just jumped the plug and left the sensors off.

Well, it doesn't immediately. Maybe it's like the gas cap thing...
