Need Help Modifying Side Blinker Lights
I recently deleted the front bumper marker lights doing a ACS foglight install project (pics to come), and now I want to make the side (just behind the front wheel wells) blinker lights operate differently. With the lights on, the bumper markers just stayed on, and the side markers only lit with the blinker. I would like the side marker to always be on with the lights and blink too....just like the headlight markers/blinkers.
Is there a way to do this via the fuse box with some jumpers? I don't see an easy way to get to the wires that go through the fender to the side lights, so I thought it may be more easily accomplished at the box. Anyone have a wiring diagram of the lights for an '00 MC?
I worry that the loop may be resistance dependant so the blinking may end up faster or slower...should I be concerned?
I want some light on the side of my car at night on the freeway....black car at night with no side lights can be hard for others to see.

OCDave | For one way to do it, connect to: http://www.unofficialbmw.com/e36/ext...n_m_coupe.html
Run the parking light wire to the side light through a relay normally closed contact. Have the parking light signal wire energize the relay which will open the contact. The flash between the parking light and side light will alternate.

OCDave | The flasher module does look at the load and goes into double-speed mode if it's too little. However, the side markers aren't enough to make it go into double-speed mode. One of the front or rear turn bulbs has to be open. The side marker is only a 5W filament.
The easiest thing to do would be to use normally-closed relays. You'd then wire the side markers to the running lamp circuit, so they'd be on when your other running lamps are on. Flasher signal would then open the relay (turning the side marker off).
To have it act like the front and rear signals, you need a dual-contact bulb and base. Not sure you'll find one that will fit in the side marker housing. Also not sure the flasher module would be happy running three 21W filaments in parallel; somewhere I have the specs on the flasher module relays (Tyco 23072). I don't think the relays will have trouble, but I'm not sure the traces on the flasher PCB are wide enough to handle a 63W load (and 126W if the hazards were on).
The side marker assemblies just pop out. I always forget which direction, but slide forward or backward and it'll lever out. It's easier to remove the front side body panels than it is to get at the underside of the fusebox.
EDIT: doh, Ron replied while I was grabbing a snack. Sorry for the repeat on the normally-closed relays.
