Looking at oil cooler kits.
I read the posts and agree I should get one, but which one? I plan to Twin Screw the car as soon as the kits are released. So i don't want to spend money unwisely.
I looked at the Harvey Kit and the kits on VAC Motorsports the Euro E 36 and the VAC Racing Oil Cooler Kit.
Trying to gain information on all 3- thanks
Hey Dan- you are correct. It was RaodFly http://bimmer.roadfly.org/bmw/forums/z3/

Since mz3.net doesn't have a forum, I'm not sure what you read.
Another option... S54 oil cooler. If you buy the radiator and oil filter housing, it'll all just bolt up. Am I missing something?

you have a few options:
A)stay OEM. 1) get OEM S54 Oil housing which has provision for oil cooler 2) get OEM Oil Cooler which mounts below radiator (requires some bracket modification unless you are also willing to change to the s54 radiator) 3)Get oil cooler lines and other misc parts to complete oem fitment
B) OEM/aftermarket: 1) get OEM s54 Oil Housing 2) get adapter kit from Turner Motorsport which allows you to run -10 AN lines from the housing to any aftermarket oil cooler of your choice (Setrab, Mocal, etc) 3) mount aftermarket oil cooler of your choice behind the kidney grills...
C) Aftermarket 1) get a oil filter cap based kit such as the VPD one which uses setrab oil cooler with lines running from oil filter.
For my particular use i decided to go with the second route even though i'm getting the s54 radiator as well. Getting s54 oil housing, Turner adapter kit, and using Setrab #613 oil cooler.
Personally, i'd stay away from the oil filter cap adapter kit, but it does look like recent versions of these kits have been more succesful than those who purchased them in the past.

I like this option the most- any of those guys offering a 25% discount off retail on parts reading- can I have some prices to do the OEM route?
Thanks
Option 3 does not interest me, and option 2 - perhaps but would rather go OEM and gegt the bigger radiator at the same time ( cost will be the final determinant)

Thanks

Hey guys,
Bob did all this work some time ago, but he used the Fluidyne radiator. It's in this thread:
http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44027
I know some others have done it too, I'm just too lazy to search.
