I have been around since Rons maiden ride with Rachel the Queen oF ZEN.I just travled around the South for three weeks! With the last of three Nav system to be upgraded!I just arrived home to a partialy low battery in my Office Ride.Guess what No Nav.NOTE After two conversations With Tony at H/K Two thing that will Kill our system disconecting the NEG Battery for any reason!or a dead battery or low battery also add a copied disk and that is a dish for a failed Trafic Pro He did not want to tell me how much to repair and we tried a few stunts to repair in field but Baby the Radio i QUOTE IS NOT A RADIO IT IS A COMPUTER AND IF YOU KILL POWER OR LACK OF POWER AND THE Traffic Pro goes poof!!!

Seems strange (hard to believe) that they would build something that gets killed by a dead battery, considering that this is not an uncommon event. I hope they cover it under warranty.
Likewise with the copied disk. I run mine with a copy (to keep the original safe) and have had no problems. I doubt this is the cause of a dead unit too.

If you restore power to your computer it still works, why wouldn't this be the case with the TP? I too have run a copied disc to keep the originals scratch free....is Tony saying that it will work for awhile and then figure out the discs are copied and break? Neither of those situations seem plausible, but I guess anything is possible.

What i say will or could cause poor relations for me,But fact he says that many failures are caused by removing battery cable, Also low voltage on start up like a uncharged or week battery,He asked me if the battery or the car had gone dead,The failure is not the radio portion but the the NAV System componets like GPS sensorThe board allows it to relay information,When I started the truck the screen said (gps)error.,We were able to reset the whole system and started over,it took a few trys.I am still not sure if it ok.Note the issue of copies came up also reading a error on start up.I also have the original.

I am going only on memory here, but I dont remember the unit having a fuse like the oem cd player, does anyone remeber if it does?? I ask since the battery cable thing came up I can see where someone could arc a cable and possible damage a delicate thing like the TP

It is power senitive unit,And that the two issues I spoke about will and has caused premature failure,to the Gyro sensor receiver.Hey I have three do you think I like what I here! And warranty sounded far and few between plus a hole in the dash for two months!
