TP 4771 with iPod
Folks,
I couldn't wait any longer so I took the afternoon off to go and install the Ice>Link Plus on my new TP. Guess what It works like a charm. The head unit (TP) identify my Playlist as CD1 ,2,3, etc
No ID3 tag for the songs but you can control your music trough the TP. Fwd RWD, Skip play etc. This is great.
I love it it was worth the wait. I selected the following option;
I20_BMW ice>Link Plus for BMW (not for iDrive)
ipod_verison: 4th_gen_40_848618
how_did_you_find_us: web search
bmw_nav: not_navigation
i20_connection: dock_cable
i20_bmw_r_t: bmw_trunk
car_year: 2000
bmw_models1: z3
I am still missing my panavise mounting clip but I should receive it within 5 days. (It would be nice if LeatherZ could create a Leather cradle for the Ipod... No pressure Jon & Andy, I the one who sent you a picture of a leather cradle for the IPOD)
I did route the cable from the trunk trough the front center console. Let me know if I can help anyone!
The only draw back and maybe it's because I didn't find the way yet but I was not able to illuminate my IPOD so at night I will not be able to see what song is playing... not a big deal!

I just ordered the Ice>Link for my 2003 Z4 (I have a nav system, DSP Premium sound, and a CD changer- which I'll have to lose). How long did it take you to get it? How was the install. Would I best take it to Car Toys or somehwere to have installed?

It took 2 months to get here. I assume that they had issue with the previous firware and they where waiting to resolve it befor shipping it.
Install is very easy but wiring the ICeLink from trunk to inside is not straight foward.
