Any interest in a buffed aluminum e-brake button?

I'm working with Doug Whalen to have him make me a couple of aluminum e-brake handle center buttons. I'm not wild about the chrome ones (which are plastic, btw), and my only other choice would be the black plastic one.

What would be cool is an aluminum that matches my aluminum trim. A matte flat buffed finish (not polished). I'm not sure exactly how much these will be.

My preference is that they are anodized (the color of buffed aluminum, btw). They will hold up better. Without the anodization, I'll probably have to remove them every few years, thread them onto a rod, chuck them up in the drill, and quickly re-wet-sand them. No biggy, but anodization would be nicer. But, the anodizing might cost in the neighborhood of $50. For two buttons, I don't want to do that. But if there was any interest in the Roadster / Coupe community for a few more of these, the cost would be spread out.

Just thought I'd check in with you guys. Any interest?

P.S. The shape is still up for debate. The edges can be rounded, like the stock button, or, I'm leaning towards a beveled edge (like.. a 30 degree bevel). Not much of one. Only 2mm or 3mm worth of bevel. I'm thinking.. this would have more of a moderne look to it for our cars. But.. rounded works for me too. Any votes either way?

I might be interested in one. I would probably lean toward a rounded edge.

Depending on price probably... I love my WSM.

Looks like there may not be enough interest, to do the anodizing. So I'll probably just go without and see how they look off the lathe.

The concensus seems to be a rounded edge (match the existing release button).

All those interested, drop me an email at; SpinAround@ATT.Net

Just out of curiousity, have you tried hitting the BMW chrome one with steel wool? You could probably convert it to the same look.

That's worth a shot. I do have an extra one.

They're gray plastic on the inside.. with that chromed "model air plane" hardened plastic coating.
