Could use a part # for door trim "hockey sticks" (Jon??)

Having some difficulty pin pointing some part numbers with my dealer, or with South Motors Miami over the phone. Can anybody verify or correct these numbers? Thanks.

51-16-2-491-394 Chrome instrument cluster ring >>

These are the chrome (really plastic) rings that snap into / around the heater HVAC controls. The ones for the aluminum trim, which by the way, should be the same as for all the colored trims and black. I don't want the number for the rings that go with the wood trim. Those are thicker / deeper. '01 Z3 Roadster. My question is; I swear these rings came in a package of three at a cheaper price. But all we can find is individual rings... at a very high price.

I'm replacing my black trim "hockey sticks". The trim pieces that go just above the leather door panels. I'm wanting to get aluminum ones. Which, of course, are really plastic painted to look aluminum. Sometimes BMW calls this "matte-chrome" instead of aluminum. Have I got these part numbers right?

Thanks guys!

Those are correct. One will be plastic and one will be aluminum and the two will not match perfect. With them on opposite sides of the car, it should not be a big deal.

Not that I know of. You buy one at a time. Makes chrome ringed gauges look cheap.

Really. Wow, that's interesting. I wonder if that's why the driver's side trim on my Coupe has some slight staining to it. (The new ones are for updating the Roadster).

Thanks

Since we're on the subject, did Z3's or MZ3's ever come with different center console intrument ring choices? Like... colored ones (painted or anodized colors), or buffed aluminum, or.. matte black. Maybe there's other options I hadn't considered.

These things are like freakin' watch parts or something. [grins]

MZ3s had painted center console choices. Evergreen, Kyalami, Imola, LSB, Estoril, Gray, etc.

Z3 (3.0i versions) had optional topaz, walnut, dream red, lotus white, etc painted console options. Very few sold however as most Z3 3.0 cars had either wood or matte chrome options, which superceded the painted center console pieces. Late 2002 Z3s with optional sport package had another kind of brushed aluminum, which was real aluminum and randomly sanded/ground with harsh deep brush marks like an old trans am interior.

Z3 coupes (2.8i versions) had walnut (wood) and graphit options. But you need a rectangular OBC for those.

There are some Individual woods listed in EPC. Red birch off the top of my head for example.

It *may* be cheaper to buy a complete leather M center console than to buy individual parts. Like $2000r. Comes with the chrome rings and leather hockeysticks, etc. But N/A in aluminum and it sounds like you are jonesing for aluminum.
