...Got a table 11, code 41, or 'Camshaft Sensor' according to Peake code reader.
1. Is it a easy DIY replacement? Where's the sensor located and what's the part number and how many do I need? How much does it cost?
2. My Z3 had an emission recall campaign performed on Crankshaft Position Sensor (campaign #99E-A01), is that the same sensor?
3. Is the problem covered by emission control warranty (8yr/80,000mil)?
4. Should I reset the CEL and check to see if it comes back?
5. I have Shark program installed, should I revert back to stock program before I take my car in to a dealer for repair, if necessary?
BTW, I have a 98 2.8 Z3
Thanks for help!

I had to replace Camshaft Position Sensor on my 01 M Roadster. I believe there are two for S54 (one on the front and another in the back of the block), but I am not sure where it is for 2.8.
Not sure if it will be covered under warrant but it is a simple DIY item. It may be in the hard to reach area but once you locate it and be able to loosen a couple of screws, you are pretty much done. Cost of sensor was in the neighborhood of $100, if I remember correctly.

Exhaust one (one that fails) is relatively easy. Little more involved if you want to torque it. The inlet one requires air box manifold and fuel rail connector strip removal plus.
