 Plastilube brake lube

I've been using the BMW plastilube 5.5 ml foil brake lube packets for years.
81 22 9 407 103 $2.24 retail.
They are a pain to use.

Finally found a source (actually two) for the 75 ml tubes BMW use to sell.
Ordered them yesterday from AW and they showed up today.

AW Imported Parts Inc.
120 Kremer Avenue
Eatontown, NJ 07724
732-542-5600
Ask for Brian
$5.99 each plus $6.00 shipping and $1.93 tax for four.
$31.89 total = $7.97 each

Bimmerworld.com
$7.45 each plus $9.97 shipping which is the same for one or four.
$39.77 total = $9.94 each

The techs at my local BMW Service Center (BMW Seattle) use Never-Seez Regular Grade in lieu of BMW/Ate Plastilube: http://www.bostik-us.com/products/in...&categoryId=30
It's as hard to find as Ate Plastilube; I purchase my Never-Seez from http://www.neverseezproducts.com/regulargrade.htm in the 4 oz. brush-top can.

Bulletin 34 01 01 (656) dated 01/2001 says not to use Never Seez Compound on M3, M5, M coupe, M roadster and Z8. They say that it has an unfavorable influence on the corrosion characteristics of the black brake caliper surface. They go on to say to use Plastilube.

RON: Thanks for the TSB info regarding Never-Seez and the black ///M calipers. My experience is that the Never-Seez does discolor the caliper bracket ears slightly. I use it primarily for high temperature track application so the discoloration is not an issue for me.
