 Lets front wheel bearing my '01 M coupe



Following link is for an E36-M3 but is the same for the coupe with a few part number differences. Also some info from Neil Maller and Steve D' from the Ultimate Garage.

On order, Wheel bearing/hub 31 22 6 757 024 $167.00 retail







Tools:





Jay sent me the BMW slide hammer tool ($212 retail) specs.
Found the S and G Tool Aid slide hammer one which comes pretty close.
Picked up one today from a local distributer for $54.42.









On order, Puller 88 88 6 332 110 $313.00 retail. You only need the bridge from this kit
but the other items that come in it are for the rear wheel bearings.

On order, Bearing installer 88 88 6 332 110 $120.00 retail. When I ordered it, Jay commented that this was a nice tool.

On order, Thrust piece 88 88 6 312 106 $13.70 retail.

Electric Impact wrench. Don't know yet. Suggestions?

I was under the impression that it was cheaper to replace the front hubs than to R&R the bearings. List price on the hub is $14.00 more than the bearings (if your bearing price is each).

Real OEM
Front bearings are not available separately. They come with the hub.
Rears are separate bearing and hub.

Wasn't the Kukko center bearing tool also used for the front bearings?

Yes. As an alternative to the tool mentioned in the link if the inner race doesn't come off with the hub. Some also use a modified three arm puller.

Rear hub 33 41 1 095 774 $84.25 retail.
Rear bearing 33 41 1 090 505 $87.50 retail.
$171.75 total which is about the same ($167) as the front hub with bearing.
