 Seat Heater Problems

HI,
My heated seat switches both act like they are going to function but after five seconds they turn off. I can repeat this as much as I want. THe fuses (in the engine bay) do not seem to be blown, and both sides do the same exact thing. I have tried to get help on Bimmerforums a few times but no responses so I figured that I would try out Bimmerfest, and hopefully Ron Stygar will help them.
Thank You,
Spencer

BUmp,
Any suggestions welcome, there has to be a fuse or something somewhere between the switch and battery that I blew.

What year is your car?

My car is a 1998 1.9l, and I recently replaced my seats with M roadster seats with functional seat heaters. When testing for polarity on my drivers side heat seater switch I may have fried something. After using the voltmeter I figured out my passenger seat heater problem, but they both now light up when you hit the button and turn off after five seconds each time. Any help is much appreciated as the weather is pretty chilly at night and I would like to be able to enjoy having the top down.
Thank You,
Spencer Hastings

I'm going to pass on this one.
Since the controls are within the switches try changing one at a time separately.

I'll take a shot...

Are you sure you wired it correctly? As Ron mentioned, all the smarts are in the switches, the wiring is pretty straightforward. If wired correctly, there's no way that pushing one of the buttons would cause the other one to light (I'm not sure that's what you're saying here).
