Cruise problem - can it be fixed?

Anyone have an idea how to debug (sorry, computer roots coming out) my cruise. It does not work at all - never has since I bought the car. I've checked the obvious (fuses). I do have an aftermarket radio and the stock wiring is not used at all. Could it have something to do with the speed control wire that went to the stock radio? If so, which wire is it and what do I do with it???

Please help - I'm planning on going to Bimmerfest in Sunny CA and 15 hours of driving with no cruise will suck!!!! arrgghhh....

Cruise Control Problem

My 99 M roadster has a cruise control that not only takes a long time to set, but will not hold the set speed for any real length of time, particularly if it is required to add throttle to go up a grade.

Any ideas on this ?????
