Sorry if this is a lame question, but I do not have my manual with me and was wondering what the timeline is for the dealer to do an oil change under free maintanence if the car is low mileage. It would seem that if you do not do enough miles to set off the maint light there is still covered maintanence based on the period of time since it was last done rather then sheer miles put on (like the brake flush due after after two years).
I have a feeling the time is up for my garage queen Not sure if I'll have the dealer do it but its worth knowing.

I think it's every 12 months, off the top of my head.

The dealers are pretty anal about requiring 12 months from their last time you had an oil change to get the free oil change under the maintenance warranty. I found that out the last time I got my final oil change. They did not reset my oil change indicators.

I had the same question a few months back since my car had 8k and it just felt like it needed a change going into the winter. The car was sold to me as "new" 4/1/04. Turns out the maintenance covers only oil changes if the car has been driven 15k or 12 months, whatever is sooner. I chose to pay for the change and get a free change again in late spring. Plan on keeping this pattern. I could care less if I am charged $75 if it keeps me in peace of mind.

Thank for the help guys! I thought it was longer then 12 months, since it is I can request the free oil change if I want. Just gotta decide if its worth it (and if there is anything else to bring it in for) or if I should just topside it. I had the oil changed when I bought the car and know it was done some time before then as well, so at least I know it hasnt gone with the same stuff for the entire time.
