Corner heights- MZ 3 Cpe with HR / Koni

I need some help diagnosing a problem...I'm runnig around the car like a dog chasing his tail trying to figure this out.

After measuring the corner heights at the bottom of the center of the wheel well lip ( just aboive the tire) I have concluded that 3 of the four are at 25.375 inches and the back right corner is at 24.875 inches.

One from the right side, it looks like the car is sagging 1/2 inch.

Naturally I have already ordered the 15mm rear spring perchs from Turner that I may not need.

question out to all of you for thoughts on what effects the corner height of the car

Size of wheel / tire ( 2002 M3 18 inch with Conti)
Air Pressure ( currenlty 30lbs)
Spring ( HR SPort)
Shock Mount and bushing ( replaced with Rogue)
Spring Spacer ( OEM)

This can't be normal?

Thanks
Erik

A half-inch is more than what I'd expect. I recall my previous Z3 and my current Z3 Coupe both measured within 1/4" on all four corners with stock suspension, and I've always shot to meet or beat that with my Ground-Control setup.

Did you just recently notice this, and is it like this consistently... i.e., it's not due to the car not being on a level spot, or having the hand-brake applied as you're rolling to a stop?

Definitely check tire-pressure... though it seems like the tire inflation would be visibily different if it's affecting your measurements by 0.5". I'm also a bit surpised that the opposite corner isn't measuring a bit different than the rest as well... or that all the others are consistent.

If your Konis are like mine, they aren't gas-pressurized, so they shouldn't affect ride height (thinking failed shock here). The only things that come to mind are (a) failed spring-pads, (b) one or more coils not properly seated, or (c) failed coil.

Also, you might want to make your measurement from the wheel-arch (body) to the center of the rim. That way, your measurements will be more universal... not dependent on rim-style, rim-diameter or other factors. I'll grant you that making this measurement accurately is a bit tougher than using the rim of the wheel or measuring from the ground.

Mine are within .03 - .05 of each other.

3-to-5/100th's of an inch? What are you using to make this measurement?

I am using a tape measure. I was going from the ground to wheel well lip. Dan ( dwm) suggested that I go to bottom lip of rim.

Now the fronts are identical at 23.75 and the rears are identical at 23.4. Almost a 1/2 front to rear.

Atleast I feel better about the car not being lop sided.

Does anyone know the width of the OEM rubber spring perch? I am hoping that replacing that with the 15mm Turner aluminum pads will put the rears up the 1/2 inch I am sagging.

Quess she's is getting like an older woman in need of a little lift?
