 Dual Ear Modification--go For It

Just wanted to say a few words to anyone contemplating the Z3 dual ear diff cover modification. I highly recommend Randy Forbes of SPORTS CARS PLUS, LLC for this work. He did my M-COUPE & M-ROADSTER and the work looks as if it was done at the factory when the car was built. Neither of my cars had a problem, I decided to do it as a preventive measure since I will probably keep them for several years. Plus the fact that Randy gave me a good deal. He doesn't just tack on a couple of mounts, the whole rear of the car is reinforced.
Yes, you could just wait until something happens and probably have BMW to pay for the repair. Unless your in real good with them their just going to fix it back as original and not really make anything stronger. Their not wanting to spend any more than they have to. If you look at the way Randy approaches the repair you'll have to agree it's got to be stronger.
No, we didn't crash test any cars or put a million miles on one yet. Although I am looking for a blonde, redhead or brunette for a crash test dummy! Randy will put it to the test when he starts autocrossing again this spring.
Don't be afraid to leave your expensive car with him. He'll take care of it as if it was his wife's.
The Ireland bushings were put in at the same time on both of mine. I thought it handled like it was on rails before, now it seems to be bolted to the rails!

Toledo, Ohio isn't close for everyone. It's 300 miles from me in West Virginia. Anyone thats to busy or doesn't want to take the time to get your car their I'll be happy to help make it happen for you. If anyone is close to West Virginia and wants to see his work on my cars, your welcome to. Theirs always one on the lift and you can crawl all over it.

Thanks for listening, Dale Burdette

Yeah, I would have my car there in a heart beat if I wasn't too busy...I mean if I wasn't too far!
All of you should count yourselves forturnate to be able to take a nice long drive to Randy's place. Heck, I can't even take a long drive period...fast, but not very long

What is the longest drive you can really go on?

If I circle the island, I may get somewhere around 100 miles or so. Our longest freeway is about 40-50 miles.
