Figured I'd post my latest numbers (and previous ones) as a reference...
@ 6,200 miles on motor, 5,000 miles on oil (no make up):
Iron - 14 ppm Copper - 15 ppm (a bit high) Lead - 5 ppm
@11,200 miles on motor, 5,000 miles on oil (no make up):
Iron - 9 ppm Copper - 11 ppm Lead - 3 ppm
@ 18,471 miles on motor, 5,014 miles on oil (no make up, had an intermediate BMW service indicator oil change per free maintenance):
Iron - 7 ppm Copper - 9 ppm Lead - 2 ppm
The universal averages reported by Blackstone (for a 4,350 mile average miles on oil) are 11, 7, and 3 respectively. However I have found that they do not normalize these numbers to eliminate the effect of varying miles on the oil when the sample was taken (or for make up oil as best I can tell). From my analysis I have found the actual averages for 4,350 miles on oil to be 13, 9, and 4 respectively when the measurements are normalized to eliminate miles on oil variations. My latest numbers when scaled to 4,350 miles come out to be 6, 8, and 2 respectively.
Anyway I need to have them send me the full set of S54 data so I can update the normalized averages and average deviations but my motor looks to be okay.
