I will be receiving the kit next week and I hear the hardest part is installing the cams? do you need a special tool or apparatus to install?

Ask Hugo on Bimmerforums about installing cams and what happens if you do it wrong. If you haven't done 'em before, and really know what you're doing, get someone who does to do 'em. As much as they cost its worth paying the $tealer or an independent shop to install them.

thank you | Linko here did that kit about a year (or so) ago. I believe that he installed the manifold, etc. and then wisely had the cams installed by a pro.
Do a search here (threads started by bob lindquist) for the whole story.

Cam Install is actually quite cheap to have done by an expert. A few hundred.
Experience and special tools ARE REQUIRED .
install the cams first, then the rest of the kit. That way you are not driving the car with the software or injectors without the cams. This is the recommended sequence.
The install of the manifold/injectors etc. is a straight forward install for an experienced do it yourselfer. The process made very easy due to the VERY COMPLETE kit assembled by the guys at eurosport.
the result will be a very freely reving engine. Redline here we come.

I am going to Atlanta to have cams installed this coming weekend by Knowledge Performance who has done this install several times on M Roadsters.
My friend wanted to install cams on his Evo this last thursday night and asked me to come over and help. I of course recommended a shop, but if he was going to do them himself I would help him (he got the tools neccesarry). Well very long story short, the car isn't running right (well not really at all). The timing appears to be correct but something else in the system has gone awry. The car was taken on a flatbed today to a shop to correct the problem.
That should be enough to let you know. See why I am taking mine to a shop?

well I just found out his mass air sensor died. Seems kind of ironic that that would die while we were doing cams and a fuel pump.
I knew I did that timing right.
