 T1-S, MX, PS2...question inside

I will need new tires sometime next year, and these are my current choices. They're all going to meet my needs for grip, so which ones produce the least amount of road noise?

Per TireRack's survey of MAX Performance tires the PS2 is a quieter tire than the MX. Can't tell ya about the T1-S, but I think the PS2 would be the quietest of the bunch. You wouldn't go wrong getting the PS2s. Note that the #1 tire, the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3, was also the quietest of those on the survey. I currently have S03s which tramline a bit; if I were to pick a replacement, I'd give the PS2's a try. fwiw

Not related to noise, but I have heard complaints about MX's in the wet. Might be a factor if your car is a DD.

I guess that would be a consideration for me since I live in "sunny" Southern California that has had rain for the past two week straight. However, I have heard that the MX's are pretty good in the rain.

Some of those complaints came from me. I have MX on my car and love them for what they are (my good weather, auto-x/play tires that see some track time). I have a set of all-seasons for rain/winter use. I would recommend the MX to anyone who wants good performance for not too much money and can have a second set of tires. I also have no complaints of road noise from the MX.

I was running on mid-ohio and it started raining (not hard, just kinda wet). Immedieately I could tell the tires were not cooperating and I backed off. After a couple more laps of driving and struggling (at slow speed) the car went into a spin and I hit the wall. Thankfully, the car was mechanically sound and I got to run the next day as well when the sun came out, but the car still had to be fixed for several thousand in damage.

I have MX's on my DD coupe and have absolutely no complaints, wet or dry.
I have not taken them to the track, but then again, when I am on the track and it gets wet, I get out.
