Couple M Coupe questions
Hi all. I have a couple questions.
Do the windows on the M Coupe drop down/go up when the door is opened/closed like on E36/E46 coupe models? If so, is this something that can be adjusted(the car I am looking at drivers side window does not go up/down when the door is opened/closed.)
Is the headlight switch a common failure? Again, on the car I am looking at the switch works intermittently.
What is the average clutch replacement time on a M Coupe if it's driven normally?
Sorry if these are stupid questions and covered elsewhere. I just want to get a good feel for what I might be buying.

This is the 1st time I've heard of this failure, but I would guess that there is no adjustment, unless the sensor that detects the opening/closing got moved somehow. Otherwise, I'm guessing you need a new sensor, assuming the window goes up/down normally. (RonS could give you a better answer.)
Headlight switches have been known to fail on Mcoupes, but this is not a real common occurance. I had to have mine replaced, but that's only because the rheostat that controls the instrument panel lighting went bogus.
Clutch life, obviously, varies directly with the type of use (abuse?) it receives. Drop in a AA turbo or high-boost supercharger and hit the drags each week-end, the clutch will go in NO time! On the other hand, I've had over 30 road course events with my stock-engined 2000 Mcoupe in the 5-1/2 years and 65K miles of ownership and the clutch continues to work perfectly. So ... the answer is "It depends." fyi
