 Leather expert's opinion is needed

I put this question in the Detail Department but there has been no taker. So, I figure I'd try my luck here (yes, the car involved is a Z4 )

Thanks.

Service manager is feeding you a line. The replacement cover was either installed improperly (missed a few hog ties or did not replace the metal straps) or else something else is wrong. Or you are being too critical of a natural product.

FYI, you are really lucky the dealer replaced it at all. They don't usually do that.

I had a leather seat cover replaced on the 3er and it never changed at all, fits just the same as day1. I think the guy is putting you off. as Jon said, and just doesnt want to redo it or send the car back to the installer (I understand that some dealers use outside places for interior bits like that - maybe yours didnt and that is why it was done improperly)

Attached is a picture showing how the seat looks now. I hope I am not being too critical.
Thanks.

Nope, you're not. Looks loose to me. You have to pay for that option on the Boxster.

Ah, so now my driver seat is more valuable due to this "prestigious" loose look?

Also ... where are the "hog ties" and "the metal straps"? Is this something that I can check by myself? The work order shows:
1 52-10-7-121-711 COVER BACKREST LEATH
30 52-10-7-075-819 CLAMP

Is this "clamp" a "metal strap"?

Thanks.
