 Sell the Dinan Poster Child?

This long-time lurker and infrequent poster needs some advice. Here’s the dilemma.

Last May I picked up a 2001 CPO M Roadster (LSB) with 4,000 miles. Since then I have added the Dinan Stage 2 set-up (Throttle bodies, CAI, stage 3 programming) strut Brace, Stage 2 Suspension and 3.38 differential. To the Dinan gear I added the SS exhaust and Fikse Profile 5s Wheels and Mich PS2 tires. The car now has 5500 miles on it. On top of all this I bought the extended maintenance warranty good for 6 years/100k.

All in all an extremely strong, well kept dream of a car. So why sell? I have my eye on a 2001 M Coupe with 22K miles that has been well cared for and is my dream color.

I know this boils down to “what do you want to drive” so I guess the real question would be: Is the M Coupe (assuming it’s in great condition with exhaust) worth 34k? And what could my car fetch?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Well, I think that for around $34-35k you might be able to find a pristine 02 (rather than an 01) M Coupe with similiar or less mileage. There are 2 02 LSB M Coupes on ebay right now with 17k and 27k miles respectively. Although there are now bids on one of them up to $33k with the reserve not yet met, it must be very close as the buy-it-now price was around $36k. Look:

Put all your stock parts back on your car, sell it that way, buy the Coupe, put all the goodies on the Coupe, & go have fun .
