 Door Handle Problem

HI All

This pic is from Ron's site on removing the door trim

What has happened is that the area denoted by the '1' has pulled loose. It also appears that there is a hole in the fibre trim that was there to hold the top of the handle and it has now ripped.

Does the top of the door handle attach to the trim (the fibre stuff???) or is there something more sturdy holding it in place? What can I do to fix this? Must the fibre trim be replaced (shudder to think of the cost) or is there another way of fixing this myself or shall I wait for the stealer to fix it at the next service (i have one green light remaining)? The handle on the passenger side is fine and it seems that it is really attached to something solid.

Help, as usual, is appreciated.

Oh, have a great new year, fellow coupe'ers!!!
