Best Air Intake Kit for 1/99 Z3 2.3?

Does anyone have any opinions on the best air intake for my 1/99 2.3 z3? I currently have a K&N filter in there now but K&N suprisingly does not make an intake for my car. Hoping for more hp w/out getting a power programmer.

Happy Holidays to all.

I am willing to bet that a drop in filter such as the one you have now will dyno better than a cone filter w/o software enhancements.

Your $ is better spent on software upgrade and exhaust. CAIs for these cars are ridiculously expensive/overpriced for what they are and I haven't seen one that's been dyno proven.

ummmmm, i just cant believe that that a drop in filter would outperform a CAI regardless of weather or not you get the programming chip for the car.....

I didn't know monks were allowed to speak??
Every CAI in other vehicles I own or have owned has improved performance and in most cases raised fuel eco a little bit. Most of these vehicles happen to be turbo diesil's. I do have to agree with the monk that all gain claims(even those dynoed) are sketchy.
If I add up all the hp & tourqe gains( in %) from the available different mods
my 2.8 must be putting out 2x the stock hp... What else would you do with the $ and what would you talk about to your bud's???
Drivin around with the Top down today--

I'm skeptical of the CAI's also. Sure they will provide a performance bump on a dyno, but when the car is moving down the road you have to contend with turbulence and air preasure fluctuations in the engine compartment. The CAI that gives you +10hp on a dyno may be sitting in a vacum when the car is moving down the road at 70mph and may net you a hp loss.
I don't like drop in aftermarket filters either. Every test I've seen shows they do not filter as well as paper OEM filters. Anyone know of any cars that OEM spec a K&N filter?
